Elliot
Raul joined Airworthiness
Worldwide in 1999 as an Airworthiness Technical Consultant, bringing with him
nearly 40 years of aviation experience that has been gained from a wide range of
positions and companies.
A native of Chile, Raul
earned a degree in Aeronautics, served in his country’s Air Force as an
Engineering Officer in charge of the maintenance unit, and worked at several of
that nation’s companies including Ladeco where he was in charge of Engineering
and Maintenance for the B727 fleet. He
later seized the opportunity to work at an FAA repair station in Costa Rica,
Coopesa, where he served as Director of Engineering for 10 years.
As Director of Engineering, Raul was responsible for all of the
company’s engineering functions including operating schemes for repairs,
modifications to aircraft, and serving as liaison for the customers and
manufacturers of a wide range of aircraft including Boeing 727s, 737s, 707s,
DC-8s, L188, BAC1-11, F27s, DC-3s, and DC-6s.
After
his tenure at Coopesa, Raul spent the next decade working as a technical
consultant to The CIT Group, the world’s largest publicly held commercial
finance organization with a portfolio of over 200 commercial aircraft.
In this role, Raul supervised a wide range of maintenance checks,
conducted records audits, and developed bridging programs for CIT’s (now Tyco
Capital's) portfolio
of aircraft.
